Cahyo R. Muzhar
Director General of Legal Administrative Affairs
Cahyo R. Muzhar holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Indonesia in 1993 and a Master of Law from the University of Nottingham, England. He serves as Director General of Legal Administrative Affairs since November 2018. Cahyo was the Director of Central Authority and International Law in November 2015 – October 2018, and Director of International Law and Central Authority in June 2014 – September 2015. Cahyo actively led a number of MLA and Extradition treaty negotiation as the Chief Negotiator, and is
engaged in a number of special assignments in leading MLA and Extradition priority cases.
Cahyo was also the Chief of the State Legal Counsel on Churchill Mining and Planet Mining Arbitration Claim at International Center for Settlement Investment Dispute (ICSID), and actively in charge as Member of State Legal Counsel on Sipadan and Ligitan Case at International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the Continuation of PT Freeport Indonesia operation.
Cahyo is actively involved in a number of international forum e.g. ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting of the Central Authorities on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (ASEAN SOM-MLAT), Working Group on ASEAN Extradition Treaty, and other UN Conventions Meeting as the Indonesian Head of Delegation.
